Almost 39 weeks and no progress - any advise?

I know I'm not even over due but I had my first son at 38 weeks and just thought in my mind from the beginning that I would have this baby around the same time.  My OB checked today and I am maybe 1.5 cm, 30% effaced and still at -3 station.  UGH.  I feel so discouraged.  Anyone else have this problem and then things changed quickly for the better?

 I'm dying to join your girls over here!!

    I did everything known to induce, but I came to the conclusion that it happens on its own! Sorry!

    Walk up hills. I'm convinced the pressure from trying to get my fat ass up the hills is what helped break my water.?

    I have no advice for you except to just enjoy every day w/DC still in your belly as if it were the last.  I tried everything I could possibly think of, but I went 2 weeks overdue & only went into labor naturally a few hours before they were going to induce anyway.  Oddly, I have found myself missing those days sometimes already.

    ditto PP, I tried everything.  Nothing works, IMHO.  Hang in there!

    i had less progress than you at 40.5 weeks - a monday. that wednesday night i went into labor on my own. it happens when it happens. i know it sounds cliche but its true!

    No advice- I tried everything and had zero progress at 39 weeks, I scheduled a c/s at that point.  My mom had less than a cm the day before she had me though!  Good luck to you, hope your baby is in your arms very soon!!

    I went from 1cm to 10cm in 5 hours with DD. I wouldn't be too discouraged, things can change very quickly!

    I tried EVERYTHING and still went 6 days overdue. BUT I was 0cm, 0% effaced on a Tuesday and in full-blown labor by Wednesday night (on my own.) She was born the next day. Hang in there. I know the end is SOOOOOOO hard! Can't wait to see you over here! :)

    have your husband rip out your shower - caused my water to break!! i was a few days 'over due' and so ready to have the baby. but i think it will happen when nature wants it to.  hang in there. we've had some nights were i want to stick him back in!
