  We have a Vicks brand that takes just plain tap water. It's a cool mist one. Just an FYI, using the tap water in a cool mist sends the minerals out in to the air so the side of Audra's crib, dresser, and the wall around the unit gets covered in a white mineral dust.   We have the puppy version of this as well as a non animal version for our bedroom. Easy to maintain and no complaints for me with over a year of use.

  We have a Vicks brand filterless one and its awesome! You can put infant safe Vicks  inserts in it too that give a boost to clearing up congestion. We got it at Target.
