  My sister picked up our balloons for us at lunch time on Thursday.  It's Saturday night and they are still going strong.

  Mylar balloons will float a lot longer than latex ones, if you want to pick them up early keep that in mind.

  I picked mine up yesterday at about 4 pm, and they were deflated and on the ground by 10 this morning.  I had to go out and buy all new ones this afternoon for our 1 year photo shoot, and some were deflated within about 4 hours.  I would wait as long as possible!

  The Mylar balloons should float for a few days but definitely not latex. You'd be lucky to get a full day out of a latex.
  
  ETA: To answer your question, we picked up the balloons the day of the party. We had ordered them a few days before.

  Thanks!  I've never heard of "high float"... I'm thinking I am just going to go throug the Dollar Tree, so I should probably get them that morning.
