I've been saying my due date is February 2nd, based on when I ovulated. Every ultrasound has said January 30th. Well, I started having contractions at 3 a.m. They are still 30 minutes apart so this might be a while, but it looks like it's likely to be today or tomorrow.
I had an appointment this morning and I was 2 cm, but the doctor could stretch me to 3. She stripped my membranes and told me to head to the hospital once I'm in active labor. I'll keep you guys posted
Re: Looks like my doctor was right all along...
Eeep!! Yay!! Hoping for another curly haired beauty!! Yay!!
Good luck!!
Squats!!
So excited for you.
I know everyone's different, but for me, I went into labor about 24 hours after having my membranes stripped and delivered DS about 24 hours after that (so 48 hrs. total).
Hope the little one arrives soon for you!
Have you been doing your squats all night?
Come on baby!

Charlotte Prudence arrived last night @ 6:28p PST, weighing 7lbs, 4 oz and 19.5" long. Other than the 30 hours of annoying pre labor that kept me up all night, I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience. I got to the hospital around 10 a.m. I was about 2.5 cm and 50% at the time. Instead of pitocin my doctor gave me half a pill of Cytotec to see if that would start labor for me. That worked like a charm, and it was a great option because I wasn't confined to the bed like if they had started pitocin. My contractions started getting more intense and frequent, and I asked for an epidural about 3 hours after taking the Cytotec. At this point I was 4 cm and 80%. That was wonderful, and I took a little nap. A couple hours later I was fully dilated and I pushed her out in a couple minutes with almost no tearing. I'm almost 100% sure that I pooped on the table since I felt the nurse wipe something away and change the pad under me, but I didn't care.
Today I feel great. I am way less swollen than last time, probably because I only had the epidural for 2 hours instead of overnight. The PP cramping is definitely more intense though, which I had been warned about.
Avery has visited us twice. She loves her little sister but got pretty jealous when I nursed her. Overall we're off to a good start though. It's amazing how much more relaxed I am about everything this time.
Pics to come after I get home!
Congrats! Welcome Charlotte!
Welcome Charlotte! Love the name, I was sad that my cousin had used it for her DD before I had H, but it was her grandmother's (my great aunt) name and she had passed away....anyway. CONGRATS! Glad you had such a wonderful birth experience!
