So beautiful and absolutely moving. Thank you for sharing. I love seeing images from talented birth photographers... you can't help but smile and get goosebumps.
This was posted on my bump board and everyone was so grossed out. I don't get it. These are freaking BEAUTIFUL! The only one I was questionable on was the lady who was STILL in the tub and was not only breastfeeding the newborn, but was also breastfeeding her toddler....I would never put my toddler in the birthing tub like that lol.
That one made me think a minute too. I think it's because I'm a FTM that I really don't know what I do would do if my toddler wanted to get in. It's not the first story or picture I've seen with other children in the birthing tub with the mom but I don't have any kids to really say what I would do in that situation. It's a beautiful picture though.
These pictures are amazing and incredibly empowering. The only other one that made me stop and think for a minute was #73 with the c-section. Blood and stuff all over the babies in the rest didn't make me flinch but an incision made me cringe for a second lol.
As a STM of boys who are just 19-months apart, I looked it and thought, "Ooh, that mama is smart! Way to get the uterus to contract and the placenta to expel through nursing hormones! The newborns nursing helps, of course, but they are not as efficient as a toddler would be.

It's also possible that she didn't give birth there and they're just taking an herbal bath. I have photos of my daughter and I taking an herbal bath after I gave birth to her, but I actually had her in a different room on a birth stool.

I love that photo. A beautiful statement for natural birth and extended breastfeeding. Made me wish for a moment that my DS was still nursing if it's safe enough for a newborn to be in the water, it's safe enough for a toddler.

if it's safe enough for a newborn to be in the water, it's safe enough for a toddler.
