Names that stuck around after our first DS

I am due in early March with our 2nd and we have a few names that we are considering again.

Thoughts on girl names:

Blythe

Vivian

and what about Brock for a boy?

I like both of your girls names, but Vivian definetly beats out Blythe. And I do like Brock for a boy. I knew a special little boy with that name.

Love your Girl names, not a fan of Brock it sounds like a NN to me. Other boy name suggestions if you want them :

Dean, Reid, Conrad, Arthur, Rhett, Solomon, Archer, Liam, Brooks, Pierce, Brady.

Thank you all for your feedback! We were thinking of Irene as a middle name for a girl - it was in our grandmothers' names (FN for my husband's / middle name for my).

The boy name is still a work in progress!

Love your girl choices! Vivian is my favorite, but I like Blythe too.

Brock is okay, I don't love it but I don't hate it either.

I am also not a fan of Brock. It's not a bad name -- it just feels a little ueber-macho or something -- and I just don't love it.

Blythe and Vivian are both lovely names. I slightly prefer Blythe myself, but I don't think you can go wrong with either name. Blythe Irene and Vivian Irene are both beautiful. (Be careful with initials with Blythe Irene. I'm not sure what letter your last name starts with.)

What is your son's name? I'd be happy to suggest some other boys' names that I think are a similar style.

I like Cooper paired with something surnamey. If you don't mind the repeated "-er" sound, you could always go for a different profession:

Archer*
Thatcher
Parker
Porter

Of course, there are the non "-er" occupational names:

Mason*
Deacon
Abbott*
Shepherd
Reeve*
Smith (kind of edgy as a first name, no?)
Wright

You could also do one of the "-son" surnames:

Jackson
Greyson*
Hudson
Harrison
Jefferson
Edison*
Garrison
Emerson (sometimes used for girls)
Benson

Other surnamey choices:

Hayden (though the "-ayden" group is overused)
Preston
Holden
Reid*
Grant
Graham*
Davis*
Bennett*

I prefer Vivian. Althougg neither are really my style, the other is, as I often say, too elderly sounding for me.

As for boy names, I agree with suggestions of Pierce and Reid.
