Babies: 6 - 9 Months

teething and tired...?

The past couple days I've noticed DD's nap situation has improved-- maybe too much..

She's teething and drooling and trying to put everything in her mouth! But the past couple of days I've noticed she's been really tired. She will sleep for a good hour and a half to two hours then be up for an hour to an hour and a half where she will eat and play then start showing signs of being tired again!!

Is being uber sleepy a sign of teething? Is it normal, per se?

I understand if so, I mean when I am in pain or have cramps all I want to do is cuddle up and sleep.

I've just noticed it more since it happened a couple days ago and I'm at SAHM so I miss hanging with her! haha

Re: teething and tired...?

  • I was just coming on here to post the exact same thing!! DS just got his two top front teeth this week but one of his canines looks like it is about to pop through any second. He was a bit fussy but just wanted to sleep all day so far! He slept 12 hours last night [woke up once to eat] and then had a 1.5 hr nap, 30 min nap and has now been napping for 2 hrs. It's only 4:30!! I'm wondering if it is just teething. [he's just under 8 months actual. 6 months adjusted but seems to follow his actual age for growth spurts and doesn't seem hungrier than normal ] looking forward to other replies!

  • It's crazy! Glad I'm not alone on this! While I don't mind the napping and such I feel like her long naps are interfering with her bed time- she is up hourly some nights (because of teething or not being tired at all because she sleeps so much during the day)

I have pushed back her nightly routine to 8 or 9 some nights!
