Pulse Racing??

I have had some issues with my blood pressure spiking off and on.  Lately I have had a few incidents where I have noticed that my pulse is racing for no apparent reason even when my blood pressure is just slightly elevated or normal.  Most times when it happens I am sitting and I also get short of breath.  Anyone else experience this at all??  Any reason it may happen??  Normally my pulse is in the upper 70's low 80's and it will go up to the upper 90's and even into the low 100's.

    My heartrate has been on and off racing too, however, I have been dealing with a sick LO at home since September and I am now fighting something horrible.  I went to emerg the other night and my heartrate was high.  They said it could be because I'm pregnant, or because I have a fever...I'd suggest to make sure you are hydrated and don't push yourself.

    Mine did this. Also I got super dizzy to the point where I thought I was going to pass out. Which is not normal. So they put me on a 30 day heart monitor. But I noticed whenever I have a BH contraction my pulse increases and my throat feels like its closing up and I can barely breathe. This only happens while laying down and not while sitting or standing for me. I would definitely bring it up to your doctor if it continues because its something they have to watch extra closely when you go into labor.

    Happened to me twice this week, in the morning. Was sitting at my desk and I could feel my heart beating really hard. Went away within maybe 15 minutes each time, but it was not comfortable at all.

    I get this during a panic attack.  I may not be experiencing it at the exact time of stress but more when I do take a moment to sit down......just my experience....

    I've also had this on and off the past couple of weeks.   It's not nice.  I also find I can get short of breath and start breathing really heavily for short periods.  Weird!

    I haven't had this happen in a while, but the first time it happened it scared the hell out of me. My mom is of the theory that because of all the extra blood in the body due to the baby, your heart has to work extra hard so it pumps harder and faster than normal to make up for it.

    I'm sure that's not in any way what it's actually from, but my doctor didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about when I mentioned it.

    Yes, this happens to me quite a bit. I will be sitting on the couch and I have to catch my breathe and my heart starts to pound. My pulse reaches 110 sometimes. I don't know why this happens...
