My DH is stuck on this name for a boy. My concern is it being used more of a girl name.. I haven't ran across any boy or girl Camerons. All I know of is the actress Cameron Diaz lol.

What do you think of Cameron for a boy?

Boy name... The only girl Cameron's that I can think of are Cameron Diaz and the gal from House, but I think it was her last name.

I see it slightly more as a boys name, but it's pretty unisex to me.

It's unisex for me - leaning a tiny bit towards being a full-on girl's name (not unlike Evelyn, Ashley, etc.).

I say that because the only ones I've known are girls - and it has a feminine nickname for it (Cam/Cami).

My name is Ashlee and I've only met two male Ashley's - both have switched to using their middle names because by the time they reached adulthood, it was undoubtedly a girl's name - I could see the same thing happening with Cameron and a few other unisex names in the next 10-20 years.

Total boy name to me. I see it as something like Dylan or Elliott; a boy name that is occasionally used for girls. When I see it written I always think boy. I have never met a female Cameron IRL but know several males of various ages. I think it is great.

Fwiw I also know three male Ashleys who go by Ashley. It is a male name in the UK still.

I think Cameron being used for girls is very much regional. We live in the northeast- Our DS is Cameron and we have only met boy Camerons (and not too many either). To me it's all boy and sounds weird on a girl.

Love Cameron for a boy! Wish DH would get on board. I knew a boy Cameron in grade school and a girl
Cameron in high school. I associate it more with a boy.
