Took him in and turns out has RSV very scary to me I had no idea what this meant for my son. His oxygen level was 89 and he was put on a nebulizer if it didn't go up today they were going to admit him but it went up to 98!!! so I was very happy

He has a ear infection and is on anti-biotics and his nebulizer still. Any moms go threw this and have any advice.???
Re: Lil on has RSV :(
So sorry! Our LO had RSV at 4 months and it lasted for several weeks. She only had it really bad for a few day where her temp really spiked (103.3) and we just couldn't get her comfortable. The pedi prescribed albuterol which really helped a lot. I just kept a close eye on her and her temp. We used the boogie sucker (we have a nose frida..AMAZING!!!) and saline spray. Tylenol as needed. I also had her sleep in her swing so that she was upright to allow sinuses to drain. Once she stopped coughing all night long I put her back into her crib. We also did smaller more frequent feedings. I have been there and know how scary it is! Hang in there!!

We're just getting through this. We had RSV, bronchiolitis, ear infection. They think she had something else bacterial too due to her WBC count. She had IV antibiotics in the ER one day, and a shot at the pedi the next. Then went on oral antibiotics. She got horrible diarrhea and the WORST diaper rash I've ever seen due to antibiotics - turned into open sores and yeast went crazy. I couldn't change her without my husband holding her down and she lost her voice from screaming. We had to get a prescription for that. We also started feeding her Yobaby yogurt to get her a good dose of probiotics and help calm her tummy down. While she was sick we gave her the drinkable kind to help with hydration and now that she's nursing well again she's just eating the little cups.
One thing I wish I had known was to rotate Tylenol and Motrin for your LO. We were giving her Motrin for her fever and it wouldn't last the full 6 hours between doses. Her fever would be around 102 with the Motrin and then would spike around hour 4. At one point she got up to 103.7 so we ran to the ER. Twenty minutes later she was at 104.6. We were almost admitted. The doctor let ust know that because Tylenol and Motrin are handled by the body differently, you can give one, then three hours later the other. Once we started doing that, her temp stayed down around 101/102 and she was much more comfortable.
RSV was something I'd never heard of, but for a little virus it sure is scary. Hope your LO is feeling better soon.
