Dry Cough

I know sneezing is normal in newborns.  But the past few days I've noticed my 10 week old has an occasional dry cough and I thought nothing of it, thinking it's normal like the sneezing.  But now I'm wondering.  She's fine otherwise.  It's not constant but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

    Does she have a fever? If so I'd call the DR.

    Coughing can be a sign of reflux. Does she have any other symptoms of reflux? Upset during and after feeding, spitting up (not all baby's spit up), frequent hiccups, bad breath etc.

    If no fever and no other symptoms I wouldn't worry about it.

    thank you for responding. she does not have a fever, and i called doctor anyway.  they said if there's no fever and it doesn't get worse, should be ok. she napped from 6:30 to 7:30 (so much for our bedtime routine of 8pm tonight!) and i'm watching and listening obsessively.  she's been smiling and is happy. they gave me an appt for 8:30 tonight but i'm thinking it can wait until tomorrow.  i think i'm just being a paranoid FTM.  but i did notice she was fussier during feedings the past 2 days, like i've had to burp her shortly after starting (BFeeding) which is unusual and she's spit up quite a lot so maybe you're onto something.

    My little guy has been like this the past couple of weeks. He has also had the sniffles too. I took him to the doctors last week. They said he looked fine, maybe just a bit of a sinus infection. No fever or anything like that. Saline drops and a humidifier worked wonders for him. That's what I would suggest.

    My LO had a dry cough, being a ftm I took her to the doctor right away. He suggested using a humidifier for a couple nights and see how that helps, with the heat being on it can dry out the entire ENT area, which can cause dry cough. Within the second night she had already almost stopped completely!
