I haven't been on here in a while but a friend of mine posted this link on her FB tonight and I thought I'd share. It's from the 2012 IAPBP Image of the Year Competition of Birth Photographers.
To me all the photos are extraordinarily beautiful but some are a little graphic, so you're warned.

Thanks for sharing! Very beautiful pictures!
AMAZING. Thank you for posting. I'm not surprised 19 is winning if it still is. I couldn't decide among the many great ones but that one started the waterworks for me! WOW!
Really a lot of them were amazing. I liked the one with the dad and his three older boys and the new baby. The older brothers looked so sweet.

Thank you so much for sharing this! It kinda makes me want a birth photographer. I loved looking at the emotions of the parents, and some of the babies' first looks at their mums. Amazing!
It also kinda makes me want a water birth. Babies seem so clean, haha!
omg. PANIC!
Also No.24 FTMFW!
Some of the pics remind me of why, after both births, I said I'd never do it again!
But guess what....here I am once again.
It is mostly scary when you think about it. Once you are in the moment, you can't really ponder too much. All you can think about is getting the baby out safely. You'll be okay!
these aren't even that bad! I didn't see any 4th degree tears, pooping on the table or using a bed pan after birth. It's so much worse! But it'll be the best thing you ever do.
hahaha I had to come here and read the posts before continuing after seeing #24. Very strange view. lol
Those were beautiful. We had a photographer, for free! My doula had put a question on out on her professional facebook group and asked if there were any pro photographers who wanted to get into birth photography and do a free birth to build a portfolio. I used one who did weddings, and she was great! I think she enjoyed the experience too (she actually arrived just after the birth) and we were really happy with the photos.
My favorite gal of all time is www.dfwbirthphotographer.com. She's become pretty well known and a few of her pictures have been used in publications & books.
