In law announcement ideas.

I am racking my brain trying to find a cute way to tell my in laws about our pregnancy. After our first appointment we plan on just telling immediate family. As they way I see it, if something doesn't work out I'd like to have a few close people to talk to. I do not plan on making a big announcment until after AT LEAST 6 weeks, quite possibly might wait(if I can make it) until Easter. We are really close to DH's parents, and they really mean a lot to me. He is an only child so I'd really like to make it special for them! We go the 11th and since Valentines Day is that week, that following Sunday we will be in town the 17th(3 days after Vday) and thought it would be a great time to break the news! Originally I thought about just buying a few things baby related(onesies etc) and put the U/S picture in it, as we usually exchange small gifts for VDAY it wouldn't be out of the ordinary and I'm sure they'd be surprised! Then I had the idea of possibly getting a cake and writing something clever on it but I have no idea what to write on it(NOT just I'm Pregnant). If anybody has any creative ways to share this exciting news I would greatly appreciate it!!

    I think the Valentine gift idea is very cute.  If you want to do a cake, my SIL had a cake with "will it be (girl name) or (boy name)?" iced on it.  They had their names picked out forever though and we all knew what they were so it made sense.  

    If you don't have names what about "congratulations grandparents-to-be" - I think that would be really special.

    Maybe get a grandparents frame for the US pic?  For a cake, I've seen really cute heart shaped ones frosted to look like conversation hearts....maybe get one and write "baby love" or something like that on it?  I think Michaels sells heart-shaped cake pans if you want to DIY.

    Giving them Grandparent themed gifts would be fun.  We gave my H's parents coffee mugs and they still use them.

    Buy a card from baby to grandparents they have them at Hallmark and sometimes just at drugstores. And write "can't wait to meet you" with us pic inside

    I fully admit that I am incredibly cheesy and my whole family knows it, so I decided to send my out of state family Valentine,s Day cards that say "Roses are red, violets are blue, September 11th's when baby is due! I will put a picture of me ans DH kissing and holding out an u/s pic. We have our next us on Feb 11th. I know this is so cheesy, but totally my style.
