Talking to the ex yesterday and today, I've been informed of and updated on his sister's sudden illness.  Let me start this off by saying that the sister has a strong history of being a serious AW.  Also, her husband just deployed to Afghanistan, so she's on her own with three small girls.

Apparently she collapsed a few days ago and someone (not sure who?) called EMS to have her taken to the hospital.  The grapevine tells me the "official" diagnosis is a "combination of stress and the flu".  She apparently spiked a fever and passed out, and even though she lives alone and her three kids are unlikely to know to dial 911, someone knew she was passed out and called EMS.  (That's where my side-eyeing begins.)

Now she's been released from the hospital, but is apparently septic (side-eye, side-eye) and their mom is gathering up her three kids to bring them down here while the sister recuperates.  At home.  By herself.  From septic shock?  Apparently the doctor has said that she'll be all jacked up for "at least three weeks."

Alright.  I'm not buying it.  But I'll not my head and smile.
