1st ultrasound

I had my prenatal appointment at 4 a half weeks. I was concerned about cramping I felt so my doctor scheduled me for a 7 week u/s. I know she said she will count the sacs but I can't remember if she said hear or see the heartbeat. Can you hear the heartbeat at 6weeks 6days?

I've read that you can see, not hear though, the heart beat flicker at 21 to 23 days after fertilization. : I have my u/s next week because we did ivf and it'll only be 6 weeks exact for us.

A girl I work with is KU and heard her LOs heartbeat at 6 weeks. She's high risk because she had her DS at 28 weeks so that's why they did an early ultrasound. I'm kind of in the same boat as you-wondering if they will hear or see it at 6 weeks. I go in next Friday for my high blood pressure and ill be right at 6 weeks-I hope they can see something!!

Mine is next week at 6weeks 2 days. I'm trying to tell myself I might not see anything and that is okay.

I had an eraly ultrasound at about 6 1/2 weeks last time. You can see the heartbeat flicker on the screen. Most likely they will do a transvaginal ultrasound. It's a little akward. But that's the best way for them to see anything that early. Good luck!

you can see the heart beat as early as 6 weeks (I saw mine last time at 6 weeks 5 days), but since it's still so early they don't worry if they can't see it until 8 weeks.

I don't think you'll hear it but you'll more than likely see it.

You will probably be able to see it...and at my appointments the ultrasound simulated the sound of the beat. So it wasn't the actual heartbeat I was hearing but at least I got to hear how fast it was going.
