3rd Trimester

Tip for those with severe bladder pressure

So, I started having really bad bladder pressure this week. It's not a UTI - I have no pain, odor, etc. But I have a constant feeling of having to go much of the time. I think he is just sitting near or on my bladder.

Part of my problem was that I wasn't fully emptying my bladder, and I'm sure many of you are experiencing the same. I was told to try to lean forward while going (impossible with a 34 week belly) or lift my belly up while I pee (this didn't help). So this is going to sound silly, but what I found to work was to sit on the toilet backward, leaning somewhat forward. It has worked very well.

Isn't pregnancy sexy? Ugh.

Re: Tip for those with severe bladder pressure

  • Um pregnancy is most def NOT sexy but there is no limit to the things we will do to try & relieve some of these uncomfortable symptoms! I really appreciate this tip and will be putting it to good use in about 10 minutes when I have to pee again Big Smile

  • Yup!  it is so awesome when you feel like you have to pee like a racehorse & haven't gone in 6 hours when in reality, it's been 20 minutes & you only have to pee a little.  haha.  You can't NOT go, because then any sneeze or sudden movement is dangerous.  haha.
  • I hear ya....so annoying especially at night when you are trying to sleep.  I get up every hour to pee at night.  I find it frustrating when I feel like I have to pee and then hardly anything comes out.  I will have to try your recommendation.

  • I swear I have tried it all. The worst is when I make a potty trip between classes and barely anything comes out, I stand up an sure enough I need to go again. So now I look like I'm dancing in te bathroom doing squats and leaning in every direction possible all while a teacher is waiting with he class for PE. Good thing my co workers are super understanding

  • Haha love it! im definitely going to try!

I definitely feel the pressure as well, and have to go constantly. It also feels really uncomfortable when you first stand up from a sitting position.

  • Thanks for the tip! I am only at 27 weeks and it feels like she is right on my bladder. I also have to pee constantly and it will be just a little! It also sucks bigguns when I go from sitting to standing. Insta-pee! agh! Tongue Tied

  • That's how I peed during my wedding in my dress, LoL.  It's like going full circle.

I lift my belly and that's been working for awhile.  I think LO moved within the past week because I've noticed my bladder emptying much more per trip to the restroom.  It's definitely nice to actually feel like flushing is worth it and not just wasting a bunch of water!
