On the news, they were showing a picture of a guy who robbed a bank, and asking for people to give any info they had on him.
This got me thinking...
If I recognized the person in the picture to be one of my friends, would I turn them in?! I guess it depends on whether or not they hurt people. If they had hurt/killed someone, no doubt I would turn them in, but if they hadn't I don't think I would. I guess it also depends on the reason...I don't know...and the friend.
What would you do? Would you turn in a friend if you knew they robbed a bank?

Re: A random GTKY
This. Plus robbing a bank you rarely get much unless it is a big operation like in the movies. Now a days they are lucky to get more than 5k.

I work at a bank. Thankfully, I've never been in a robbery situation, but I've got coworkers who have. Even when it's not been an obvious armed robbery, they say it's terrifying. Some of my coworkers have needed counseling to deal with it. Anyone who causes that kind of trauma to another human being deserves to be turned in.

A friend? Maybe. It would depend on how good of a friend.
This too. Banks have to adhere to regulations that keep their inhouse cash to a minimum. I always laugh at movie scenes that have piles of cash standing in the vault [ahem, The Dark Knight, I'm looking at you]. It's not like that, not at all.
Although, I would love to see a robber take off with a dye pack and get a big surprise!

I didn't even think about this! The bank my sister worked for was held up twice. I change my answer. I would turn in any friend. But still not my sister.

Exactly this!
And not to go off on a separate tangent, but I can't help my irritation over the customers who walk in wanting 10 000 cash and get mad that we don't have it just sitting around!
Exactly! I had a guy want 7000 earlier this week. I had to go to the vault to get it, and he was seriously annoyed that I didn't have it in my drawer. I was like, "sorry for the inconvenience, sir, but that's actually a couple thousand more than I can even have in my drawer total." He looked at me like I had three heads. Sigh....
