We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.

XP: AW ... A/S Went Well (PIP)

Our Anatomy Scan went well on Wednesday, other than the fact that Otter is hanging out really low, which made him tough to photograph. But everything they did get looked normal, and he is a VERY active little fellow! We'll repeat our scan next month so they can get more images of his heart and brain, plus his face and hands, which he just didn't want to show us. (Aside from the clenched fists he used to beat the side of my uterus when he'd had enough!)
My MFM could only see two vessels in his cord, so they will be looking at that again as well, but she told me not to worry as we'll be monitored more closely anyway due to my high blood pressure. (And she couldn't determine if that's actually the case, or if she couldn't see the third vessel due to him being a wiggly kid.) All-in-all, I feel like everything is OK, and I'm finally starting to get excited, and a little more hopeful about this pregnancy.
After a long 21 weeks, we finally told our families and close friends this week. And I shared our announcement with everyone else this morning. It was wonderful to be able to thank people for their support since our loss, and I know that we will have so many people rooting for us now.

My MFM said the one thing she was sure of is that he was definitely a boy, so that's good. I had gotten so used to the idea in the last month, I was really hoping my ultrasound at 17 weeks was right. It's weird how low he is, but they assure me it's nothing to worry about ... I just get the fun pressure earlier. You know, like every time I have to pee now already. Ha.
