Baby will not stay asleep!

This has been going on for...the past 6 hours. She won't stay asleep for more than 20 minutes. I know its a vicious cycle of being overtired at this point. It is so frustrating. And I'm exhausted and losing strength/patience for trying to help her sleep over and over. The start of the 6 week growth spurt? I just want to cry. And sleep. Vent over!

  • Right there with ya, sister.  Ugh.

People keep repeating, "It gets better, it gets better."  Really?  WHEN?!

I know, that is never comforting when ppl say it! When you are sleep deprived you need it better NOW, not weeks, months, days down the road. And the second time around, knowing how much better it does get, I'm anxious to get there!

Somewhere along this pregnancy I turned old where I can't sleep at all if I have caffeine past 1 pm! It's sad!

  • This was us today too and mine is only four weeks old.  I don't want to hear that it will get better either.  I just want someone to tell me how to get this baby to sleep and how to make her stay asleep!

  • We had the same issue, all I can say is be super sure on the basics, full belly, clean diaper etc then swaddle! In a sleep sack my girl can only go 1 to 2 hours but swaddled she will go 4 or 5. Look up super swaddle on you tube, it has been a life saver. White noise can also help. If you have a swing I would say feed, do diaper check, swaddle, then put her in the swing and go make yourself a cup of tea and take some deep breaths! I am sorry you have to go through this!
  • Same here.  She will only stay asleep if I'm holding her.

  • Wow, Im right there with you gals. We have been up since 2am, he will sleep for a half hour and wake up, not crying or anything, just wide awake. I was crying all morning out of frustration, I have no idea what to do anymore. It is so exhausting! I had coffee and a diet coke, it helped! lol.

  • I'm with you there, it's so hard!  I just want more than 90 minutes of sleep at a time and more than 2 hours at night, is that too much to ask for?  I keep hoping it'll change... fingers crossed!

    At least you're not alone.
