Infertility

New to Forum

hello all,

i have just finished testing for IVF and will probably start in March (after we return from vacation).

i am so confused about so many things. not sure how to read the results of bloodwork, etc. but whenever i google, i end up here. so i decided to sign up since there seems to be so much useful information here. but not sure where to start!

so i will introduce myself. i am 39, had a tubal, and now am going to start IVF. nurses say my numbers look good. we are going to pay for 2 cycles.  hoping it works out on the first try.

haven't started on any meds, but they are already listed in my patient portal, and insurance covers it (thankfully!).

  • Wow you are very lucky your insurance covers the medication.  That was the only thing mine didn't cover and I had to spend about $5000 on meds alone.
  • That's what they told me too, about 5k. I was mortified, since we are doing 2 cycles and that's $6k.

I work at a college, if I was a professor, IVF would be covered up to 25k! But, glad we all have the same prescription plan.

Does anyone know if there is a thread for those trying to conceive after tubal? I briefly looked....

  • Welcome! I'm sorry you have to be here, but there is a wealth of knowledge here. It's definitely a help when insurance has coverage! Good Luck to you!
