Bottle feeding is 100 new to me and frankly I'm a bit intimidated by pumping overproduction, nipple confusion etc. I go back to work in a month LOVE Madeline....NOT a fan of staying at home could be PPD related.
I am trying to figure out what the best brands are for milk storage bags/bottles?/containers.
Also, when I feed her sometimes I feel like a fire hydrant poor girl. Should I use a low flow nipple?
I hope to talk to our lactation consultant soon.
Edit: Thank you SOO much
Re: Bottle nipples and milk storage
Right now I pump into Medela bottles (5oz) and then dump it into 2.5oz storage bottles and put it in the fridge (because I don't have tons of 5oz bottles and I usually pump too much for the 2.5oz bottles).
If LO doesn't eat what's in the bottle before 72 hours is up, I do one of two things: 1) dump it into storage bags in 1oz or 2oz increments, or 2) dump it into our breastmilk ice cube containers in .5oz increments.
These are the trays we use... I really like them:

I use Medela bags right now because that's what I have. I also have a few Lansinoh bags that come with the nursing pads... but I haven't tried those. Anyone know if they're any good? I haven't had any leaks with the Medela bags yet. If I make ice cubes, I dump them into freezer ziplock bags when they're frozen.
I lurk on the breastfeeding board a lot and many women say their LO never moves past a slow flow nipple. So I would definitely start with that and give it a few days... If LO seems too frustrated you could always try to move up.
1st, I would like to say that I do not have PPD, and I too love my kids, but I am not cut out to be a SAHM. It's not for everyone!
As far as product as, I can tell you what I use: I use Lansinoh milk storage bags, Tommy Tippie bottles, and right now stage 1 nipples. I have a fairly heavy/fast let down, so she does get frustrated sometimes with the slow flow nipple, but she also spits up less with that than the breast. I pump into the Madela 5oz containers, or directly into the bottles (with the adapter they have available) and store some in the fridge in those, or freeze in the bags.
If you need help with pumping and supply questions I have found that the ladies on the breast feeding board are very helpful. I've done great using some of the tips and suggestions I've gotten ther and now pump 2x a day with out over supply issues. I have also learned to pump in the morning to get more output, have someone else feed the bottle if LO won't take it from you, lean back while BFing to help LO with the heavy let down, and how to properly rotate your freezer stash once you return to work. GL, and I hope you do well handling your PPD and going back to work - I know from last time it can be very emotional and overwhelming (and I wasn't even exlisivly BFing!).
I have a fast/overactive letdown and have moved LO up to the level 2 nipple, but only after repeatedly trying the level 1. I'd have them on hand, but not start with the 2s.
Anyways, my LO does great going from breast to bottle. We use the Avent Natural Bottles and Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature! Love them both!!
1. Pour into the Playtex Nurser with slow flow nipple. I use the smaller 4 oz size bottle with 4 oz drop ins. I do have 8 oz bottles but still use 4 oz drop ins.
2. Freeze in Lasinoh bags. I've had 1 leak so far during thawing.
My husband doesn't like the Nurser because he said it looks like she's struggling trying to get the milk. He prefers the Vent Air bottles with slow flow. She doesn't care as long as she's getting food. Seriously most easy going baby ever.
