February 2013 Moms

My fears have come true... stomach bug is in my house.

Crying

I have been dreading and dreading this. It was my big fear for the past month and a half since I started having early labor signs/pretmer labor scares. Luckily, I made it to 39 weeks. Unluckily, I am now at least 3cm, 80% and my toddler has the norovirus.

Would anyone like to tell me that there's any chance at all that I'm not going to get this bug and have it kick start the world's MOST MISERABLE LABOR ever? Because I want to cry. Like, a lot. I HATE throwing up, and the thought of laboring with this evil illness is pretty much my worst nightmare. Not to mention, DH may be sick at delivery now, and my mom who is watching DD during labor was with us yesterday and might get it too.

I'm trying to stay positive and failing. This sucks.

  • Oh NO! I really hope it stays away from you. I had this Monday and ended up in L&D getting fluids for an entire day. It was AWFUL and I wish it on no one. Stay positive and take some extra vitamins. Hopefully you'll be able to come out unscathed.

  • I'm sorry. :(

I hope your DD gets over it quickly and that you don't get sick!

  • My DD had it Sunday, DH had it monday/tuesday, I left work early Wednesday and was out Thursday as well, everyone at daycare has been puking. It's not a nice one. But, it didn't start my labor nor make my contractions any more intense, if that gives you any hope. Just stay as hydrated as you can NOW because it won't let you keep any liquids down and more! EEK, I hope it misses you.

  • *Knocks on wood* I don't have any personal experience, but my friend who had her baby in December had it for the 24 hours leading up to her labor. She was due the 27th, and delivered on Christmas. She wasn't actively sick during labor, but she was the day before. I know after she delivered she was so happy to eat something!

  • I'm just going to curl up on the floor and keep crying. DH and I keep looking at each other saying, "How are YOU feeling?" but we're both too nervous to truly evaluate how we're feeling.

I canNOT believe this is happening now. Seriously, all my friends keep saying, "You've been worried about this for months and it's actually happening?" Yes, that is my luck.

I'm almost 39 frickin weeks pregnant! I only made it to 36 with DD! I make it 3 MORE WEEKS and my reward is stretchmarks and probably a stomach bug during labor. I want to punch something.

And I do feel queasy but I can't tell if it's just nerves, the sick, or the three glasses of grape juice I drank b/c pinterest told me it would prevent the suck.
