Trouble TTC

Weight Watchers anyone?

I joined WW this week at the new center close to work. I bought a monthly pass so I would have etools etc...

backstory:  I lost 60lbs on the old program and slowly gained it back over the past few years. My RE and I discussed my weight and he was nice, just said if I ever move to IVF he would want me to lose about 25lbs first.  So I need to take care of that now just in case.  Also I really want to be healthier and if I get KU, have a healthy pregnancy. My RE said WW was a great program for me to do while TTC and doing fertility treatments (as long as I didn't lose more than 2-lbs a week).

questions:

1. how are you doing with points plus? Successes?  Do you attend meetings or do it online?

2. Does doing Fertility treatments ( injecttibles specifically) mess with your weigh ins... meaning does your weight fluctuate a lot on meds?  Just don't know what to expect with that... don't want to feel discouraged if I go in one week and I am up 3lbs.

Any other comments/suggestions with WW? Thanks ladies!

Re: Weight Watchers anyone?

  • a year and a half ago I started WW online. I lost 21lbs in 7 months. I kept it of for a little while but have slowly gained about 10lbs of it back. I didn't do the old program so points  plus has been fine for me. I love that I can eat as many fruits/veggies as I want! I haven't started treatments yet so I don't know the answer to question two yet... I have the WW app on my phone it has helped me keep track of food while I'm on the go, or if I want to get fast food I can look at my app and pick good choices. good luck!

  • Good luck to you! I do WW this past summer and liked the program a lot. I wish I would have done the meetings in addition to the online program. I think I would have stuck with it, if I had an external support team.

I thought the food diary online was very helpful. The online tool was very easy to use!

I also liked the recipe support. You might also consider getting the cook book eat more of what you love. It has recipes that operate on the point system. My mom told me about that cookbook. It has helped her with healthy eating.

I lost 8lbs and have kept that off.
  • i have been doing weight watchers for almost 3 years and have kept the weight off. i even worked for them for almost 2 years. i love points plus and i have had great success. i have been falling off the wagon but i think the meetings are key. i still learn new things at meetings. my weight does fluctute a little but it is mostly because i eat like a crazy starving person when i am on meds. it is like i cant control myself, it is terrible
