Fit Mama Friday

We've made it through the first month of the new year! Are your fitness resolutions sticking, or do you need to reapply the glue? :)

  • Between illnesses, a cranky baby, and re-injuring my knee, I've definitely been off my game all week. I also go very discouraged b/c I did Insanity pretty faithfully for 3 weeks and saw zero results as far as weight loss. I was quickly burning out and frankly sick of Shaun T saying "knees behind ankles" when he means behind toes. Anyway, I have decided to keep my goal (to be comfortable enough with my body to get to the beach this summer; i.e. to lose about 10-15 lbs) but to tweak my fitness plan. I pulled out all my other old workout DVDs and enjoyed a Turbo Jam on Monday. I feel a lot less stressed about it now.

    GTKY: I love to curl up on the couch with a book, a huge glass of milk, and a pastry or fresh French bread.

  • I think I've done ok this week, used the treadmill at work to walk a lot and I'm running a 5 k tomorrow. Need more motivation to lift weights though!

    guilty pleasure would be chocolate, in any form. Non-food would have to be reality tv

  • Ok, I've don zero exercise this week. I was running 2 miles on the treadmill through my 9th month of pregnancy. I just can't seem to find the motivation, since about 10 weeks post pregnancy. A couple weeks after having Anj, I was back to my prepregnancy weight. She's made it impossible to work out during the day. After my husband gets done with work, I make dinner, clean up, and get Anja ready for bed. Then I'm exhausted.

    Starting tomorrow it's my husband's big promotion today, and we're celebrating I'm back on the wagon. Anja can fuss all she wants while she's in her pack n play or jumper for twenty minutes while I run.

    As for my favorite GP, I have a huge sweet tooth. It's almost Easter, and that means Mini Eggs. My goal is only to eat one bag this year!

  • Lost 1.8 pounds this week... for a total of 14.8 since January 2nd. still have twenty more pounds to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight... :) and i am jealous of all you ladies who are working out... i have had "ZERO" motivation to get this body moving... so i have only been counting calories to lose weight. :)

    guilty pleasures: a dorito, an oreo and a circus peanut.

  • I have nothing constructive to add. I did bad! I am still 4lbs under PP weight so its still in the right direction. I am cracking down this week! I started today off with a long swim with DD. I am more tired then she is :/

  • I actually did really good this week. I gained 27 while I was pregnant. I was back to pre preg weight at 3 months pp after three weeks of Insanity but I was not fit. I think I lost a lot of muscle mass while pregnant. I've lost 10 lbs in the last month and want to lose 5 more before I start more strength training. I'm mostly just doing cardio right now. I have to say that Fit Mama Fridays are really helping bc other than my mom and DH everybody else isn't supportive. I just get a lot of "You don't need to lose any weight." That doesn't mean I'm in shape.


    My guilty pleasure is a drink at the end of the day. I always have a glass of wine or tottie with dinner.
  • I've been lucky to do insanity consistently all month. Tomorrow's the last workout of month 1, then it's the recovery week. The scale still hasn't budged in a few months, but I feel stronger and tighter in the mornings anyway. Curious for those of you who have lost weight this month, are you BFing?

    Guilty pleasure: cookies n cream ice cream. And now that it's Girl Scout cookie season I'm screwed!

  • My New Year's Resolution was to complete a Whole30. I made it through all 30 days and I've continued it. I've lost 17 lbs and am down to my lowest weight postpartum since DS1 was born (2 yrs 8 months ago).  I'm hoping to continue this eating and to start working out.

     

    My guilty pleasure is a warm bubble bath and a long book.
