Checking for recalls - PSA

Hi ladies, 

I just wanted to send out a friendly reminder to everyone who's getting hand-me-down or used baby products to please check them out for possible recalls.  My sister used to work for a non-profit in Chicago called Kids in Danger.  It was started by a couple who's baby died in a defective crib at daycare.  The crib had been recalled, but no one knew.

 Anyway, not all recalls get the attention they deserve, and it's difficult to track used baby gear.  So please check out anything you're purchasing or receiving to make sure it's safe.  I'm sure there are other sites too - but these are a good place to start.

WARNING: this site has a little slideshow memorial to babies who died in recalled baby products.  It's pretty sad.
