So I am not a victim (banging on wood as we speak) but I was still debating on the RCS v. VBAC, I think we're team RCS. Can you share your story with us? I'm sorry to hear you were part of the 1%. It's so hard to know what's right.
Oh! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one here! I haven't talked to my own OB yet about the incident since he wasn't on call when I went to the hospital. We're waiting until my pp appointment to get it all out together. But I'm seriously terrified about getting pregnant again.
With my first son I had HELLP and thought THAT was bad. I had a pretty severe case and HELLP is pretty rare. That was a rough experience and ended in a c-section as well. There was no way we thought that we could have a more rare and serious condition this time around. I already have 2 boys and don't think I want to push my luck again. Any of you ladies have more babies after the rupture?
So here's the link to my birth story from the January board if anybody is interested :-)
What a story, thank you for sharing it. I am so glad you and Leo are alright!!
Our TTC Journey
TTC #1: May 2011 BFP: 10/27/2011 | EDD: 6/30/12 DS born 6/28/12 via C/S
TTC #2: September 2018 Me: 36 | DH: 39 Mirena removed 9/13/2018 after 6 years BFP 11/11/2018 | MC @ 5.5 weeks on Thanksgiving July 2019 - Diagnosed with Secondary Unexplained IF August 2019 - 2.5 mg of Letrozole = Never Ovulated so Trigger and IUI were cancelled 9/30/2019 - IUI #1 (5 mg of Letrozole + Trigger) = BFP but Betas showed CP @ 4 weeks 10/28/2019 - IUI #2 (7.5mg of Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN 11/25/2019 - IUI #3 (7.5mg of Letrozole, Trigger + Crinone after IUI) = BFN 12/24/2019 - IUI #4 (7.5mg of Letrozole + Crinone after IUI) = BFN 1/24/2020 - IUI #5 (50mg of Clomid + Trigger + Crinone after IUI) = BFN and an Ovarian Cyst 3/2/2020 - Taking a break to reset/NTNP 11/1/2020 - At peace with where things are in life and are no long actively TTC. Whatever happens will happen and it will all be okay.
After 38h of labour total, including 9h on max dose of pitocin and 4 hours of pushing, my uterus was exhausted and not contracting in an "organized"way. Baby's HR was dropping with pushes. We went to the OR for a CS and it happened while I was on the table. I felt that something was very wrong, like just a very strange wave rolled over my body, and said so to the anesthetist. Within seconds, he and the OR nurse took IV bags off of the poles and were squeezing them through my IVs with both of their hands. They also moved the monitor so that I couldn't see it(I'm a nurse).
It felt like forever until I heard LO cry. When I did, I cried. I refused a transfusion and it took me a really long time to recover...I was so lucky to be where I was when it happened.
