When is your shower?

Ok May mommas! anyone know when your shower will be? MIL wants me to tell her when to throw us a shower. Hubby wants to do it at the end of feb and "get it over with" lol. I was thinking early to mid march so that we would still have time to gather things we don't get. MIL needs to know asap because they plan her work schedule a month in advance. My due Date is May 5th. I kinda agree with hubby though that sooner would be better because I really want to make sure I have time to organize and get things I don't have. I am a FTM so I am not really sure when to have these things. lol. Any STM advice? Any other mommas already have a plan? TIA !!!!! Stick out tongue

I'm a FTM so I can only tell you what my plan is. My sister is throwing my shower, and her RCS is scheduled for April 25, so we have to keep that in mind. So we are doing mine march 10, most of my guests have plans for st. Patrick's day and then Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, and then it's right about time for my sister to pop. So for our situation, earlier is better

I just picked my date with my host the other day! I'm having the shower April 6, because it is at my church and they prefer to do them a month away from the due date. If it were up to me I would do it mid-March because it would help me feel more organized. I am also due May 5, btw.

most showers are pretty late in the game. I'm due May 29 and because of scheduling issues my shower will be pretty early, March 10. I wouldn't have wanted it any earlier than that ideally.

Mine is Feb 9th. I'll be 27w exactly. With twins I can't wait like normal mommas, I'll be too huge and uncomfortable to enjoy myself so we're partying early. It's totally up to you though! Just keep in mind the longer you wait, the bigger you'll be, and potentially the more uncomfortable/exhausted too.

I have two scheduled - the first March 9th and the second March 17th. The last one is five hours away and later than I'd like. We were originally planning to have it Feb 16th but it *just* got changed.

I have two showers (different invite lists). One is co-ed and being thrown by friends on March 23rd. The other is only women and being thrown by family on April 6th or 7th - that one hasn't been nailed down yet.

EDD is May 17th, so I should have time after these two showers to pick up any other items I need.

Mine is March 2nd for this same reason. There are tons of events between March and April so I picked a date that I know would have no conflicts. And now atleast Ill have plenty of time to pick up whatever else I need and not have to worry about spending so much money right at the end. I can space out any big ticket items that I need to get still.

I'm so glad that you asked this because I'm still not sure when I will have my shower. My good friend wants to throw me one here, but my mom also wants to have a family shower for me back home (8 hours away). The timing of the shower here won't be a problem at all, but I'm a little worried about having the one 8 hours away too late in my pregnancy. Not only will travelling be uncomfortable (especially since my husband can't take more than 2-3 days off work, so we'll be on the road the day before and after the shower), but my field season starts sometime in mid-March (depends on the weather).

Ideally, we would have the family one at the end of February and the one here with friends at the end of March. I'm not due until May 19. Is it weird to have a shower at the end of February?

My EDD is May 23rd and I'm thinking the shower for my family will be March 23. MIL wants to throw a shower for her family sometime in April, but I don't think she has a date yet.

My due date is May 5 also. I am having my first shower on Feb. 10 and another one on March 30. I think early to mid-March would be ideal timing, but this is just what worked out best with my family and friends.

I don't think it matters as long as you are comfortable with the date and the host is as well.

I had a shower a couple weeks before my sons was born. I had a shower earlier as well. I will have this one at the end of April so about a month before I'm due because that works for the people hosting. (Yes, my family has a shower for each baby, they have done so literally for generations)

I'm a FTM and my shower is Feb 23. I have to fly back home for it, and my OB would prefer if I don't fly after 30 weeks (otherwise it's a 15 hr drive).

I'm due May 3rd. My mom and MIL booked my shower for March 9th. This allows plenty of time to finish getting things ready. I'm also hoping that it is at about the right time so that I won't be super uncomfortable at the shower.

I am having my shower March 16 it gives my mom enough time to plan and then after the shower it gives me to organize and grab things I still need and my EDD is 5/22-26 depending on when he wants to come out

No idea. I told my mom I don't wan to be involved in the planning or to think about it... though I should probably ask for a date so I can make sure I don't look like a slob.

I will probably know about the one my MIL is planning since we have to travel to another state for it.

My thoughts exactly. I'm due 5/24 and my shower is 4/21. I'll be 35 weeks, but I have no problem with that. Still plenty of time to prepare for DD, unless she comes very early!

Mine will be March 2, almost exactly 2 months from my EDD so I will be 31 weeks, but we have to travel back (home) which is 2 1/2 hours from where we live now so that was one of the only times we could go for the weekend, that or early April. So we picked March so we have time to shop for the rest and I won't be huge huge, plus we may be moving before the baby arrives so things will be a little crazy.

March 3, with Easter and spring break it's in march in Canada most weekends are full so it was either march 3 or April sometime...I wanted to do it sooner rather than later.
