update- for anyone who cares:)

I have totally been MIA from the bump lately! We are trainingt for a new software program at work so I have been super busy during my work-time bump hours, plus LO weaned off of the breast (nursing was my other bump time) plusalso LO is now STTN!!!!!!!!! So those bump hours are gone too (can't say I'm anything but thrilled about that one!)

Anywho, like I previously mentioned, Kellen is now sleeping from 7pm to at least 530 am, and we are trying to get him to 6:30 (he does it some nights) He has been STTN for about 3 weeks now (we got him there using SleepEasy) and I am a new woman!!! He still wont nap over 30 mins 99% of the time, but I'm ok with that now that I have been getting some restorative sleep myself at night. Seriously ya'll, I am a new person. It is amazing what sleep will do for a gal!

He was 19 lbs 2 oz and 26.5in at his Dr appt at 6 1/2 months and is happy and healthy and fattening up since he is now on all formula! He has no signs of teeth, can only sit for a min or so unassisted, and has absolutely no interest in pushing himself off the ground to crawl, but rolls around the house like a roly poly. Im not too upset about this though, as I think once he crawls I will be in for it! We started solids ab 2 weeks ago and he has liked all the fruits he has tried and most veggies other than peas. His favorites are bananas and pears.

Ok, thats my update! Those of you on FB, I have been keeping up with all your LO's but I need to go back and check up on all my fellow bumpies LOs so I can be caught up! I feel so out of the loop now.

 Did I miss anything awesome?

  • SO glad that things are going so well for you.  I know you were really having a rough time for a while.  SleepEasy is wonderful, isn't it???

    Glad to see you back!

Yay!! I was going to pm you a while back about sleepeasy. I just still feel like I can't do it but nights have been so bad and lo has a cold. ugh so I will just continue to be jealous.
Honestly, I'm not sure about your LO, but Kellen cried himself to sleep pretty much no matter what I did! He would nurse to sleep, but when he woke up 12 times a night some nights, there was no way I was going to nurse him every time, so there was a lot of crying going on in our house even before.

The first night of sleep easy he only cried 62 mins. He had cried for 2 hours plus before WITH me there rocking, shushing, bouncing, patting, etc. It almost seems now that my presence was frustrating him more than anything and now that he is alone in his dark, quiet room, he is able to shut down his brain and sleep more easily. Also, we used to swaddle and we went cold turkey on the swaddle the same night we started sleepeasy. The first night he woke himself up every 10-45 mins and would cry for about 10-15 mins every time he woke up. It was awful. The second night he cried 20 mins going down, rolled onto his belly, and woke once in the night and cried for 20 mins. We weaned him off his 2 night feeding slowly (woke him to feed him twice a night 1 oz less than previous night) and once he was weaned, everything has been amazing. He still has the occasional night waking that takes him a bit to get himself back to sleep after (maybe 30 mins tops) but he is just a much happier, well rested baby now!

IMO, the awfulness that goes along with letting your baby cry is so very worth it if it helps in the long run. Not only is Kellen a happier baby, but I am a better mom, wife, and employee! I recommend sleepeasy 100%. It was a Godsend for us!
