Beer for Insomnia...? (Non-alcoholic)

So my German OB suggested I try non-alcoholic beer for insomnia.  My sleep got better for a bit, so I didn't really think much of it at first.  Now insomnia has struck again, so I am enjoying a German beer...non-alcoholic, but I must say, I am a bit happy I get to enjoy it since we will be leaving Germany in the middle of my pregnancy.  We will see if it works.

  • That is interesting. I have never heard of trying this. What is in non-alcoholic beer that would make you more sleepy?

  • Be careful, non-alcoholic beer still has some alcohol in it. Much like decaf coffee still has caffeine.

I know alcohol in pregnancy is pretty controversial as to how much is safe or not. So I just wanted to throw that out there.

  • I am aware there is some alcohol.  Minimal though.  He said it was the hopps in it that would help.
