DS will finally be baptized on March 10th... now to find an outfit and book a luncheon.
Where did you buy the Christening / Baptism outfit?
Did you do favors of any sort if you had an after church lunch? Did you get the godparents anything?
This is becoming more of an ordeal that I had imagined.
Re: Baptism questions
I used this website for my DD's baptism gown. They have some boys stuff that looks cute too. Not sure what your budget is...

I did not get gifts for the godparents but I had planned too, just didn't get around to it with all the craziness. We did not do favors but hosted a brunch at a friend's house. We got sandwiches and cake from CostCo, it was really yummy and not too expensive.
I kept it very organic my mom wanted to get the outfit so i let her she lives in florida so some local store. Im Baptist so he wore a white suit it was adorable.
I did send out invites and we had lunch and cake at our house small group of family and godparents 15 in total i think (i cooked my MIL made a fish dish and I picked the cake up) the quote on the cake said little ones to him belong and my son's name. no favors or any of that- who has the time:)
My mom made his baptism outfit out of her mom's pillowcase. It had tatting on the bottom and everything. We will be using it for all Children.
But yes, kind of a waste.
We did not do favors.
We did give the godparents a Christmas present - and will continue to throughout his next 18 years. We also give a fathers day and mothers day gift. A flower or something easy and small.

I was always under the impression that the Godparents buy the outfits for the baby but only one of ours did. We did 2 sets of Godparents. My mom bought the other outfit for DD. They were purchased at a local botique and are disgustingly expensive. They don't need to be but my mom and aunt (godmother) insisted on purchasing them.
We had a luncheon afterwards but kept it small. There were only 15ish of us and we had it at a favoritve pizza place of ours that has a restaurant area in the back.
I was going to make chocolate favors but my mom instead bought them for us. I don't think it's necessary but it was a nice touch.
I've never heard of getting the Godparents gifts but I'm sure we'd get them a little something in the future.
Our LO wore the Baptism outfit that my husband wore as a baby so it was very special. Luckily it was in fantastic condition and it was a timeless outfit so not tacky.
We had a luncheon afterward and I actually made chocolate crosses using a candy mold and Wilton chocolate...I made white and milk chocolate and put like 3 per little baggie.
For the Godparents - we gave them a really nice framed picture of our baby and a card. I also plan to frame one of the pictures with them and the baby from the Baptism and give it to them as well. They have Godparents frames on Amazon that are nice to put the pics in.
We are probably getting our baptism outfit from this website.

I didn't want LO wearing a satin suit and they have a good selection.
We are having a luncheon at a pizza place and will not be providing favors. We didn't want to spend a ton of money and with 50+ people invited, it was our best bet. Good deep dish Chicago pizza and pasta is always a hit.
I did buy his Godmother (my sister) a personalized purse hook (thingsremembered.com) as a gift. My husband will be responsible for the Godfather's gift (his brother).
We didn't give gifts to the godparents last time, but might this time same set.
