receiving blanket wipes

So I made my own wipes out of receiving blankets but they are coming apart. They are just cotton ones. How do I fix this? Did I do something wrong. I cut them up with regular scissors.

    Yes, you need to cut them with pinking shears, sew them, or use a serger. They'll fray otherwise.
