So I was planning to not pump next week and use freezer stash for DC. Slowly weaning for real.
Well, DS is a step ahead of me. He will not take a bottle of EBM in the morning at DC. He doesn't drink but an ounce of water out of his sippy at lunch. He's offered EBM in a sippy AND soy formula in the afternoon, in a sippy, and drinks about an ounce total then. They have also tried water in a sippy.
He nurses in the evening and I think he has decided to reverse cycle. He now screams ALL night long unless I nurse him frequently. I plan to let him CIO the week of 2-11 while DH is in town, and slowly decrease night nursing between now and then (painful).
What can I do to try to get him to drink? He has three different kinds of sippies, two different kinds of straw cups and bottles...he's not interested. He simply will not drink; I tried to get him to before dinner and felt like I was water boarding him with a sippy of formula, he would let it into his mouth then spit it out.
Before I call the ped trying you guys for thoughts....he has plenty of wet/dirty diapers, but surely not taking in milk of any sort really during the day is not OK.
Re: Refusing Fluids
I'm sure you could try just plain liquids in it too. Here is a link of it I found online.

I'm on my mobile, so no clicky.
ETA not sure my link worked but it is called a "litterless juice box"
Nateslady I almost cancelled a meeting and went to nurse DS in the middle of the day today (I have 7 hours of back to back meetings, someone kill me please) so I feel you!
I am sure it's why he is reverse cycling.. I cannot do that forever....and am on board for weaning at a year...but not if he won't take anything else! But seriously, I cannot nurse all night long and work, it's killing me.
My daughter isn't big on her sippy. The other day she was refusing BM in a bottle and daycare had some luck when they mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with formula. She still nurses like a champ.
The way we can get her to be more interested in her sippy is if we act like it's really tasty when we drink out of it. We put her sippy in front of her but then we take it ourselves and 'fake drink'. We do some loud fake chugging, happy looks and a big smack at the end of our fake drink. We pass it between DH and I and then offer it to her. She always takes it then. After a few days of this she seems to be more interested in in. I think I may put my dinner water in a sippy and see what she thinks of me having one too.
Ah- the things we do for our kids.
