Pregnant after a Loss

Fever and flipping out

So I haven't been feeling well and after taking a long nap today I decided to take my temperature.  It came back at 101.3 with the ear thermometer.  I took two extra strength Tylenol and brought it down to 99 now but I'm flipping out after reading how dangerous a fever in early pregnancy is.  Neural tube defects, autism, miscarriage.....I am so scared now.  Anyone have this and everything turned out to be fine?  I just went to my doctor this morning but wasn't feeling this bad so didn't mention it to him.  Can't I just get a break?!  I can't take all this worrying as it is and now a fever to boot.  Wtf!  I am drinking a ton of fluids too....really trying to stay on top of this.

/Sorry, no advice about the fever....

    but

I wanted to say congrats on your new pregnancy. I lurked on the "loss" board for awhile and recognized your name. You and you growing babe will be in my prayers! I am also expecting again (haven't brought myself to make a new ticker) and have an EDD of  9/22.

Definitely what the other ladies have said. High prolonged fevers are a concern. If your fever responds well to tylenol, I would say you're probably safe. Drink lots of water (like you are), get lots of rest, and keep on that fever.

I hope you feel better soon.

I know its scary but I promise you and baby are fine. When I got the flu at 9 weeks my doctor assured me that my fever would have had to have been high (101.5 and up) for days, not just a few hours, for there to have been any chance of harming the baby. Keep taking the tylenol (but not more than the recommended dose), drink plenty of fluids, use ice packs, etc if tylenol alone isn't doing the job. If nothing you do is working then call your doctor.

Agree w/ PP about the prolonged aspect. My doc said to call if it's above 102.  Try to get some R&R and keep drinking those fluids.  Hope you feel better soon!
