Pregnant after 35

Anyone else think the fruit ticker is off a bit?

I mean, according to my books and my doctor, this baby is a certain size at this point. Just how big do the ticker people think a Papaya actually is?!? I have never seen a papaya as big as my baby is supposed to be.

And a banana? How did the baby go from being a plump/round fruit/veggie to being long and skinny??  Stick out tongue

  • Yes, the ticker is definitely a little funky--just wait until it tells you you're an eggplant for 3-4 weeks in a row!

  • I've seen football sized papayas. In fact, I remember buying one during my 1st pregnancy b/c my friend told me how much it helped w/constipation, but I couldn't get past the taste. And I had so much leftover :P

But yeah, I think the fruit ticker is a bit off.

Yeah, the length but measured which way? Some of my books say that at this age, they'll start measuring from crown to toes instead of crown to rump. Which is weird because two weeks ago, yes-- P?pite was all straightened out. This week? P?pite is folded in half with its feet up by its head.

And I have never seen a Papaya as big as a football. Holy Hannah! Maybe that's why it didn't taste so great? Like lobsters, which don't taste as good the bigger they get...?

  • Last week I was a pineapple.  This week I am a butternut squash but I think that I have had that in the past too.  I went to the grocery store and the butternut squash was smaller than the pineapples.  Everyweek I go to all of my pregnancy apps and email DH with all of the different sizes that our baby could allegedly be.

When we went clothes shopping on Saturday he wanted to take a pineapple so he could see what would fit her if she was born now.

    BFP on IVF #2 6/29/2012. Beta #1 7/3 = 522; Beta #2 = 1180; Beta #3 = 6491 image BabyFruit Ticker
