Menu: We are making our own sausage and grilled chicken nachos!!! I wish we had more friends to invite over!! I feel like I want to buy noise makers, a pony Keg, and paint my face!
Drinks: Beer...New castle with an orange slice
Rootin' for: Ahhh either!! My H's favorite team was the 49ers growing up, but since Baltimore beat Denver I want them to win!! Plus I want to see Lewis cry!
Bets: I bet my H and I will make a sexy game out of the commercials.
Games: We do the abover commercial game, score squares (buy in for 10 cents a square)
Menu: showing up with some kind of appetizer and eating what else shows up!
Drinks: hopefully something mixed and yummy, but the host is SIL who is still not sharing she is pregnant, so there may not be an abundance
Rooting for: meh...I guess 49ers
Bets: we always do a poster with 5 dollar buy ins for squares for end scores at quarters, half, and final. Also last year we did a whole sheet of 50/50s like over under on national anthem, will there be a safety, etc. Bridget won last year
Games: See above...and chasing around the kids.

H is going to his buddy's house an hour and a half away so me and the little man are staying home. We may or may not have an anti-bowl party with my bff and her kids. It would consist of eating whatever is in the house, playing with the kids, and drinking wine.

Am I the only one not watching? I've never been a fan of any sports, and DH isn't either. I used to watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials, especially if we got invited somewhere, but I haven't even done that the last few years.
What are your plans for game day: We are going to DH's cousin's house. They do a super bowl party every year.
Menu: A mish-mosh of appetizers that everyone brings.
Drinks: Not sure. An email went around the family that this year the party will have no alcohol- very unusual from past years! So not sure what we will find. It is sure to be interesting.
Rooting for: 49ers. I don't like Ray Lewis.
Bets: none
Games: score squares

Nothing too crazy or exciting here. SO might not make it here until friday because of the storms so he will probably just want to have a low key day and a few friends from around here may come over to watch.
Either way we're making it a day full of fingers foods and beer!
Pizza monkey bread, cinnamon monkey bread, wings, fruit salad (coles fave), and some other odds and ends.
I don't really watch so not rootin for anyone but I think Cole will love an entire day of sports and cuddles!

We won't watch it either. And the commercials have been disappointing overall the past couple years.
This is the first time in prob 5 years that we're staying home. I'm hoping we can try a few things to keep the kids involved so it's fun for everyone, and that we get to watch the game! (we usually chase our babies around at my sisters house and can't wait to go home and watch the DVR)
If all goes well, we'll actually get to watch the game and the kids will think they liked the super bowl
Menu: I'm gonna try to make pizza balls, Asian chicken nachos, chili cheese dip, veggie platter with some interesting dip, fruit kabobs, cheese quesadillas and we're gonna pick up wings for DH since he's the only one who will eat them. Dessert is football shaped chocolate rice krispy treats and peanut butter brownies. At least, these are my ideas so far.
Games: I found a little sheet to help make the kids part of the action. We might each fill one out, but I'll need to figure out prizes or how to make it fun even if you don't win. Maybe kids vs grownups?
I also found a Superbowl bingo...like each kid can fill a bingo card with some arrangement of these squares (cut and glue=fun for them) and then we'll color them in as they happen until someone gets bingo? I'll work on this idea too...not sure how it will work exactly.
