I think I ate an apple for dessert that might not have been good. Now I am having major stomach cramps.... Is this possible food poisoning dangerous? Should I call the dr or suffer through?
I personally would wait until I was vomiting or having bad diarrhea, but if you're worried, don't hesitate to call your doctor, especially if you can't keep yourself hydrated.
It might just be workin on your bowels n helping you poo. Apples are good for that , but yes if you are concerned you should call your doctor at the very least for peace of mind : )
I had to read this like 3 times before I understood the Snow WHite reference -- very clever!
I did have food poisoning back in the first or second tri, and I did call my doc - because I was puking or having diahrhea every 15 minutes... and she said that if I couldn't keep water down after 12 hours, then to go into L & D because I needed to be hydrated. Hope that helps!
It takes several hours and sometimes up to 24 hours for foodborn illnesses to incubate and start causing symptoms. If you do have some type of food poisoning, it's not likely to be from the apple. I would definitely wait to call the doctor until you have a lot of diahrea or vomitting. I had a stomach bug the last time I was pregnant at 33 weeks, that after only a few hours of symptoms led to dehydration, contractions and needing IV fluids in L&D. It can happen quickly, but you should wait for actual symptoms.
