Anyone have a wipes warmer?

We have a wipes warmer and the other night, all of the wipes were cold. I guess the unit stopped working. It was a gift, so I have no receipt. It seems that it should've lasted longer than 9 months.

I looked it up on their website and it says that you need an original receipt to submit with the warranty paperwork. It is for Lion Heart, anyone have experience with this company? Would it benefit me to call them to see if they would do a straight exchange/replacement even if I don't have the receipt?
