Awake Activities

Hello. I was wondering if y'all could share the activities you do with your LO while he/she is awake. I want to provide variety and am running out of things to do! We read, use her play mat, go on walks, I will talk to her about what I am doing while she is in her swing/bouncy and also sing and dance. I would love to know what others are doing!

    lots of those black and white baby flash cards, mirrors, and sensory activities (like running different cloth textures over their bodies while in just a diaper). Oh, and ball/balloon kicking.

    I do all of the things you mentioned, as well as watching music videos online in other languages. LO loves the colors and things on it! 

    We have a few baby toys we play with as well, like a barnyard of animals that makes sounds and such.

    All of those things you do...

    Plus, I like to put her in her vibrating rocker seat and carry her around the house with me.  I'll fold laundry, clean up her room, make our bed, etc. and just talk to her while I'm doing it.  She likes to sit and stare at me haha!

    Also, I'm not sure if it counts as an activity, but this baby would sit in her swing or lay in her crib and watch a mobile FOREVER.  I get a lot done and she squeals at the animals circling around :)

    We hang out. I don't really have structure except for bedtime. We did introduce her baby Einstein DVD this week and she is hooked! She will be crying while I'm trying to do laundry or something I can't hold her and I pop that in and she fusses in between the scenes a little. As soon as a bright color comes on the screen she starts cooing.
    We also lay on the play mat and I will elevate my knees at an incline and she will hang out.
