Hi-
How much are your 8 month olds drinking thru out the day?
I have 8 month old twins (7 month adjusted). They are taking 5 bottles, 5oz. each of breast milk or formula and 3 feedings of cereal, or pureed foods and puffs. My son will beg for more milk or formula. He is probably getting 27oz total per day. Our daughter has been fussy lately. She will take a few sips, stop, and then reach for the bottle again. It seems like we can't keep her focused on the bottle, but she just puked a large amount of milk for the 2nd time in a week. So I am wondering if something else is going on. I was under the impression that they should be getting a minimum of 24oz per day. Is this too much? At their 6 month ped appt., I was told to feed them solids 3x per day.

My lo is drinking 24-28oz a day. I recently added a 3rd solid mel and it hasn't changed the intake much. I was barely able to get that much in him until I switched to fast flow nipples.
DD just turned 8 months yesterday. She has 3 "meals" a day B-4-5tbs cereal w/3-4oz fruit puree & a 6-7oz bottle which she doesn't always finish. L-is normally 4oz puree and a 4oz bottle...though this whole week she has been going back to sleep 2-3 hours after breakfast thereby missing lunch and sleeping for 4-5 hours. (she sleeps 10-12 hours each night,too-yes, we're very lucky after a rocky start ).After she gets up we pick up DS from preschool and she gets her "snack bottle" of @8oz...well it's 8oz right now because of missing lunch. If she would have had lunch, it would be a 4-5oz bottle. Then there is her dinner which is another 4oz puree and 4oz bottle which she has before we eat. When we sit down to eat, we started giving her things to try and feed herself like little pieces of cut up banana, avocado, and peas and carrots. Night nights is her final bottle of 8-9oz. She also gets her 9oz water bottle through out the day as well mixed with about an oz of juice. She normally has at least half of that drank before she goes to bed so all in all:
@8-12oz puree & another 4oz of other food
@ 22-30 oz formula
@ 4-9oz water
DS had been up to 32oz of formula a day before he was on full moo at around 16 months.

My son has three, 5oz bottles at daycare, and nurses approx 4 times other than that (one before daycare, one after daycare before bed, two times motn). He has two meals per day, each meal consisting of 2 tbsp cereal + 3 oz puree. We are soon going to start a third meal and some BLW.
