Diagnosis: Ear Infection

Boooo. But at least we know what we're up against.

When the ENT found out this was DD2's 5th or 6th (I'm not even sure) ear infection, she asked that I bring her in again in a month. If she still has fluid in her ears then, she'll get tubes. I hope it all clears up before then.

Re: Diagnosis: Ear Infection

  • Poor babe.  If it's any consolation, way back in the day my little brother had both chronic ear infections and a speech delay, and as soon as they put in the tubes (which was totally NBD at all) he not only saw an end to his ear infections but he also had a speech explosion!  Don't fret, mama.  The tubes may not be all bad, if it does come to that.

  • Oh, poor little girl. If she needs tubes at least you'll know it will help.
  • Poor thing! I hope she is feeling better soon!

Thanks Mama. I would rather have her get tubes than keep on going with one round of anitbiotics after the other, that's for sure. We did that with DD1 for a few months and it sucked. I seriously would marry her tubes if I could. That's how much they changed our life. lol.  I would just much prefer that she didn't need tubes OR any more anitbiotics.

I'm just glad I went with my gut and took her in. She didn't have a fever but the way she has been crying when she wakes up at night was enough for me to suspect it was in fact an ear infection.
