DD is the worst sleeper...ever. It is killing me. Bedtime is a battle every single night, it usually take about an hour and a half to get her to stay asleep. Falling asleep is no problem, but she wakes up 4 or 5 times and has to be soothed back to sleep. She can't be put down drowsy but awake, and has never really fallen asleep on her own, except on the boob. She is a terrible napper as well, only sleeping for 30 to 40 mins, waking up cranky. So she has to take 4 to 5 naps a day, in order for me to stay ahead of a meltdown. She usually has to be put down a few times for each nap as well, maybe two or three before she will finally stay asleep. Everyone keeps asking me if I let her cry, but how much is normal fussing to fall asleep? I know she can't CIO yet, but somedays I wonder if I'm really doing her any favors by running to her everytime she cries. She is usually a cranky hot mess by the end of the day, as am I. I never thought I would even think about letting my kid CIO, but my DD really is the example of a kid needing to learn to sleep...she just can't do it on her own. I just don't think it's supposed to be this hard..I counted the other day and I put her to sleep 12 times in one day...12 times I danced the baby sleep dance till my quads burned and prayed she would just sleep already. Co-sleeping isnt an option for us either, but she doesn't fall asleep any better that way the couple of times I've tried it. I just don't know how much more I can take, she's only twelve weeks old and I don't know if I can do this much longer....ok..rant over
Re: Who else knows one day they will have to sleep train..
Ooo...I do have a suggestion! My lo falls asleep better after tummy time...i guess cuz he's more tired. He also conks out as soon as we go outside.

Do you swaddle her?
We let him cry for a few mins (5 or so) before we go in to pat/shush. If he is full on screaming with no pauses then I go in sooner knowing he needs to be calmed. But otherwise, he gets himself to sleep in a few mins. We have been doing this since early on. I suggest giving it a try - it is not too early to help her get into good sleeping habits.
In my opinion, you will need to work on it now so that it doesn't just get harder.
Sleeping in a swing/bouncer/rock and play/carseat. A carseat is nice because you can swing her around without holding her in your arms so she can fall asleep without you actually holding her and learn to do it on her own, but you can change up the movement.
Inclining the crib a little and putting rolled up blankets under the sheet to make a little 'nest' to lay her in.
Music/white noise
A toy on the crib for her to look at while falling asleep
Swaddling
Fussing for a set time maybe 10 minutes, then go put the pacifier back in or try to settle her down, preferably without picking her up, then repeat.
Fussing until she starts to get really distraught. Hallie has a little 'whine' she does. I can tell when she is getting really upset and the whine starts to turn to a scream. Thats when I give in and try to calm her again.
Going for a drive when we're REALLY desperate.
I know we've had to do/try other stuff before, but this is all I can think of. And Hallie's actually a really good night sleeper...she just changes what she wants alot and naps never go well! :P Good luck!
I'm so sorry things are going so tough for you guys! I second everyone's suggestions and would only add the Five S's system from Dr. Harvey Karp. We luckily haven't had to use it too often, but when we have, it's worked really well (only used once everything else is checked - like, food, diaper, etc.) I'd definitely recommend it
I hope things settle down soon - and hey, rant away, it's what we're here for, right?!
