Need parenting book advice for 2 1/2 - 3yo...

So when DD turned 2ish we started using 1-2-3 Magic and it worked great in the beginning. Now, 2 1/2 is kicking our butt. Counting isn't working and I'm losing my patience quicker and quicker these days with the hitting and kicking and yelling back at me.

I've tried to keep my calm, get down to her level and explain what I want and sometimes it works. I'm more and more using bribary to get what I want and I hate that.

What other books do you recommend for this age group?

We are TTC #2 and I'm seriously questioning my sanity. haha

  • Read it again because you now have a child old enough to understand more of the logic that is presented in the book.  We do timeouts in his room.  We add a minute for running away or hitting while being put in there.  He hadsto clean up his mess if he throws a tantrum while in there.

totally agree about reading it again and trying to use it. the hardest for me was really understanding the difference between Start and Stop behaviors and how to react to them. once i got that, it's been a bit easier. she's still a Pill at times but she's also 3.
