TTC after 35

Back from monitoring appt UPDATE E2

I started with an antral follicle count of 8 (3 rgt, 5 left). This was the lowest I've ever had. I had 12-16 last Summer/Fall...ugh.

After four days of stims I have 11 (6 rgt, 5 left). My RE seemed ok with it and said I will probably go a little slow and to continue the dosage (450 follistim, 150 menopur). The largest was almost 10mm. Thoughts? Experiences?

Going to acupuncture today...thanks ladies and Happy Wednesday!

Update: my e2 was 149...re said it matched what she saw on u/s...who knows...

Re: Back from monitoring appt UPDATE E2

  • I don't have any experience in this as of yet...   But I want to say good luck & that it only takes 1 strong one!

    Ditto!

Me 39 & suspected PCOS, DH 42. Went off BCP when we got married in 11/11, seriously TTC since 3/12.  Six cycles of clomid = BFNs.  Suspected endometriosis & HSG showed both tubes blocked.  Sept 2013 IVF 5D transfer of two perfect embryos = BFN.  Started acupuncture and taking time off to drop some pounds & get healthier before FET in April 2014.

  • 11 follies is great, especially if they're growing pretty evenly.  Good luck!
  • Slow and steady will hopefully get you high quality follies, but on your stims will cost you more. I found acupuncture to be helpful with the stress of cycling. GL!!!

  • I learned somewhere in my cycling that E2 should be 150 for each mature follie. So, if ultrasound is measuring 10 follies, ideally E2 should be 1500 or more. You're still very early, and your E2 should rise each time it is checked. Hope this helps.

Ok, thanks...Yes, my 11 follies are no where near mature, they are pretty much still resting. Only one measured almost 10mm. I think "mature" is when they get to at least 15mm. ??

    Hoping for a steady rise...

  • Wow, those are great numbers!  Without stims I had three total.  After a week of them, I have five on one side and two on the other.  It has been a very long week of slow growth to get to my trigger.  My E2 levels were like yours as well.  I triggered last night with a 21 and a 16, the rest are much smaller.

So you are way ahead of the game with your numbers!  Slow and steady isn't a bad thing.  FX for you!!

  • Great update!!! 11 follies is SUPER!!! So happy to hear you are progressing and everything is going well!!!

  • Thanks Bakermom...I guess it's a wait and see how they will mature. My next monitoring appointment is tomorrow morning and she kept my dose the same. It's all the numbers that drive me crazy. I can't control anything so why do I freak at e2 levels or whatever else they are testing. I gotta just let go and let be...

Waiting for your update too...thanks again!
