Goodbye Pants

I can no longer wear pants. It is JANUARY and I am wearing the dress from this picture. 64 days left.  The middle of winter is not the time to break out the beachwear.

BTW... Old pic. 2009 kids are now 9,11, 13. Time passes quickly.

If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.-Douglas Adams

Re: Goodbye Pants

  • the title of this made me laugh! I'm in the same boat -- I've actually grown out of my 2 pairs of maternity jeans (my only real "pants") and I'm now wearing leggings all the time.  I'm not sure I want to shell out the $$ to buy maternity jeans in the next size up that I'll only need for 2 months!

Dresses sound like a good idea -- can you layer with leggings/tights and a sweater to stay warm?

Okay stupid question, I should really think before I type=)  I'm guessing you outgrew them like PP and don't want to shell out more money.  I'm to the point where I'm trying to avoid buying more clothes too.

  • The feeling of anything pushing on my belly is driving me nuts! It was 70degrees yesterday and awesome, but it's supposed to drop into the 20s tonight after storming all day. Kentucky weather...gotta love it.

I have no idea how to make this look presentable. I'm just going to put on my muck boots and carhartt over summer maxi dresses and hope no one minds.

The jeans and legging still technically fit*, and a new size would fall off my flat butt (I wish I had a booty). I wouldn't spend $ on it anyhow.

  • I am getting to that point as well, it is so much much relaxing to wear a dress than pants now-a-days.

I'm layering dresses with leggings and sweater, pants are just not comfortable anymore already. Plus I'd have to have them hemmed...I look a lot bigger with a flowy dress on though, lots of comments today :)

  • Dresses are so much more comfortable than maternity pants, but I am at about the point where I need to put away my heels, and I just can't do dresses & flats.  I wore dresses and flat sandals all summer last pg and that worked fine, but I just can't figure out how to pull off a dress, tights and flats and not feel like a 5 year old.

  • I agree! I almost wore a strapless maxi dress today (with a sweater & flats) but I hate the way dresses make me look. DH even made a comment that 'they don't make flattering maternity dresses do they?' Eh, that was enough to make me go back into the closet to change (into a maxi skirt no less LOL)

Being a bit boho/hippie style anyway, I think I allow myself to get away with more fashion fauxpas than most. I layered the strapless (non-maternity)maxi dress over a 3/4 sleeve tee and added a hoodie I stole from my  13 yr old son, some comfy wool socks and birkenstock clogs.

  • I officially grew out of the first pair of maternity pants I bought when I was still in some of my regular jeans.  I wore them on Monday and they were very snug.  Thinking those will need to retire for the rest of this pregnancy.
