DD is recovering from some sort of stomach bug/food poisoning she had over the weekend. She was vomiting Saturday evening, and was fine by early Sun morning, but then the diarrhea started. No fever or any other symptoms. Yesterday and today, she had diarrhea once each day. Pedi recommended bland foods. The problem is that I think she has her appetite back and doesn't want to eat anymore plain toast, pasta, soup/tofu, banana, etc. This afternoon, she wanted strawberries for a snack even though I gave her some plain crackers. I ended up giving her a couple of strawberries, but DH got all mad because he's afraid it's going to upset her stomach more. At dinner, she wanted mac and cheese, but I was afraid to give it to her because of the dairy. DH is staying home with her again tomorrow, and we don't really know what to feed her. She is not eating her normal amount of food yet, so I do want her to eat SOMETHING, but I don't want to prolong any GI issues.
Re: Food when LO has diarrhea
probiotics (I get them at health food store) and BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apples, toast) ...stick to "white" foods...like crackers.
