Intro Hypothyroid question

I never thought I'd be writing an intro on an IF board, but here goes. We're on cycle 12 of TTC 2. My DD is 3. I got pregnant again in September 2011, but that ended in a D and C after a missed miscarriage. We took a break after the miscarriage, and started trying again in June 2012, and...nothing. We've had some preliminary tests, and i have my first RE appointment next week.

I found out at a routine physical a month or so ago that i have Hashimoto's, and I was slightly hypothyroid, with a TSH level of 5.08 so i started taking synthroid. Strangely, this never came up in any of the blood tests my OB did.. According to my charts, i've been ovulating regularly and my luteal phase is fine, ranging from 12 to 15 days. I guess my question is whether hypothyroidism affects TTC even if i'm ovulating regularly. I know there are a lot of experts on this board, anyone with hashimoto's?

    I'm not familiar with hashimotos either, but I know that the hypothyroidism can affect TTC even if you are ovulating regularly.  My tests haven't shown any thyroid issues yet, but my family has a history of issues and I'm not sure why or how, but it can affect getting pregnant and even staying pregnant.  Sorry I don't have much information for you, but good luck!!
    TTC #3 (#1 for DH) since September 2011. DX: Unexplained infertility with possible cervical factor. May 2012 did clomid with IUI - BFN August 2012 IUI #2 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN September 2012 IUI #3 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN October 2012 IUI #4 w/ follistim/letrozole - BFN November/December 2012 IVF/ICSI #1 Retrieved 12 eggs, 8 fertilized. Transferred 1 beautiful embryo and 5 made it to freeze. Got my BFP! January 2013 u/s showed empty gestational sac. FET cycle April 2013.  Transferred 2 5 day embryos.  BFP!!!!!  2 heartbeats!!!!  EDD:  12/27/13

    I also have hypothyroid. Most doctors like to see  you TSH under 2 or 2.5. Once the synthroid stabilizes your thyroid, it shouldn't be an issue for getting/staying pregnant. Good luck with your appt!

    2IF graduate...but did want to chime in that a good friend of mine has hashimotos...she had a couple m/c before discovering it...once she got it under control she did have her son (2nd IUI with follistim/overdil; she also had MFI) ...

    My thyroid was 2.9 when we did our FET but was put synthroid to get it below 2.5...I still take the synthroid.
