Hi Everyone,
I am totally new to this site, and board. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 2 years now and went to the Infertility Dr, only to be told that his swimmers, cant swim. So we have decided to try IVF. I just started birth control, and will hopefully be doing the injections in 3 weeks. I am the biggest babee when it comes to needles. I have several tattoos, but the thougt of a needle pulsiung my skin makes me cringe. Do you have any advice as to at home remedies or creams that help ease the pain? I am extremely nervous and am very hopeful that this will work!
Re: New Bee...
Hi!
I know it doesn't feel like it now, but after the first couple of needles, you will be a total pro. The first one took me the longest to work up to, but after that, it was nothing. And I honestly made myself sick worrying about how I was going to handle all the needles and now it's a breeze.
For the first time, just take a deep breath, pinch and stick it in, it doesn't take as much pressure as you think it will and it really will be ok

I didn't have any big problems with all the injects, so I don't have any advice to give but could maybe somebody else do them for you? The subq shots are really easy and not painful at all.
Good luck with your cycle!
It's so normal to be nervous! I've done injectables with my IUI's before and I'm still nervous to start my injections for this IVF cycle tomorrow! First one is always the hardest and you psych yourself up for all this hooplah and it's really no big deal. You'll do great!

I'm scared to death of needles. To be honest, I have a bit of an aversion to doctors/medicine in general (growing up we never really went, my mom was weird). I started injections on Saturday. DH did the first two nights. The plan was for him to do them all, but he was busy last night so I had to choose between doing it myself or having him do it 2+ hours late. I did it myself! It took a little working up to, but wasn't that bad. I can't think about it ahead of time, but when you're in that moment you do what you have to.
