DH vent

This is going to be a PNR because I need to get my butt in hear for work but I woke up still pissy so I figure a vent is needed. Last night we got some snow and DH went out to snowblow. Fast forward a few minutes and he had run over a newspaper in a plastic bag and gummed up the machine. A half hour later he was still working so I heated up some banana bread and made him some hot chocolate and poked me head out to see if be wanted to take a break. He said no so I asked if there was anything I could do to help...his response..."pick up the papers". I reminded him that he walks over them To get to the door he responded that they weren't his and he wouldn't pick then up. Grr

First, they aren't mine either. They're some free paper that gets tossed there. Secondly, how often do I pick up his messes? Or clean, fold, and put away his laundry? Or make dinner and wash dishes? Always!! Lastly, fine if you're upset...but man up and apologize for taking it out on me once you've cooled down.

Now to decide if I should drop it or bring all this up after work today... Thanks for listening!

Re: DH vent

  • Ask the neighbors for all their free crappy papers and dump a huge pile of them at the front door. Wink

Yeah, I'd be upset too.  I'm sure his butt can pick up something off the ground and throw it away.  Maybe he will apologize later?

  • Oh I would be annoyed.
He's probably just heated in the moment but you're right... He shouldn't take it out on you.
I probably would not say anything right away but I would stop picking up ANYTHING of his or anyone else's just to prove a point. Then if he asked about it I'd just calmly say that I was following his lead on only picking up my own things.
I'm stubborn and could last months in a mess just to prove my point.
I'm sure some people would think that's childish.
  • I'd be annoyed too.. but he's just upset and taking it out on you. You were even being nice too, making the banana bread and hot cocoa! I'd just give him a minute to cool down, I bet he'll come in and apologize.
  • So both of you walked passed this paper yesterday and no one picked it up?

He was just annoyed, I'd let it go.

And call the paper and ask them to stop delivering it.
