Veggie Boycotters

This may have been suggested before, but I thought about it tonight at dinner. My kids really enjoy frozen veggies, still frozen.

Tonight we had a mix of corn, carrots, green beans, and peas. They ate almost half a bag, just the two of them.

  • Yep! No problems. He only has one molar. You could let the, set out a bit, so they are just frosty...

  • Ohhh coffe! i like the way you think! Does K eat lima beans?

S/O veggie haters I thought about Max this weekend when we made a beef stew! IT IS SO GOOD!! Bo ate all of the mushrooms, olives, and celery. You serve it wil a spoonful of mashed potatoes.

I will post the recipe when I get home from tanning.

Also! try mixing greek yogurt, s fruit your LO likes and a handful of spinach! Bo gobbles this up!

  • K will eat Lima beans, but L won't.
They both like mushrooms and black olives too.
The only produce that L refuses is tomatoes. But K gobbles them up!

Halle loves edamame.  Kai doesn't, but he loves popping them out of the pods so will choke them down in order to pop more.  Lol.

I also find leaving veggies on the counter for them to "sneak" while I am prepping dinner works great.  It is surprising how many veggies get snatched from my counter that would go uneaten if served on a plate.

    best idea!

A snack cup of frozen peas rather than gold fish!!

  • I have a dumb question about edemame.  How do you get it soft enough for your LO to chew?  I've made it a few times--steamed it and boiled it--and I feel like I cook it forever and it's still really hard.

your just serving the little seed/pea and not the shell, right? not like a sugar snap. I just boil it and let it cook maybe five mins and its good.

  • I've only ever bought the frozen, already-shelled kind.  Maybe I should start buying it fresh.

By the way, am I the only one that has a chilld that will eat most vegetables, but wants nothing to do with most meats and carbs?

my kids eat everything. But tons of fruit and veggies. The least they eat is meat. DH thinks that's why they are so skinny!
