Hi fellow Bumpies - has anyone given birth or have any input on any of these places to deliver? I hear quite a bit about Beaumont (and am currently a patient there) but I'd like to hear more about the others. All of these hospitals are about the same distance from my house. I'm high-risk so taking that into consideration as well. Thanks ladies!

Re: Experience with Hutzel/St. Joe's AA/Providence Park/Beaumont??
I had my daughter at Beaumont Grosse Pointe. It is really terrific- the staff is great and it is smaller, so you don't feel like you are lost amidst a hundred other patients. Unless something unexpected occurs and you need to be taken to surgery you don't leave your room- delivery and recovery is in one place. The rooms are quite nice- very clean and there is plenty of space for guests. Oh, and the food was awesome. Important, right?
I delivered out of Providence Park in Novi and I liked it. I liked that we were in one room from the time I checked in for monitoring until we checked out -- just about 72 hours between labor (induced) and recovery. There was a couch (not extremely comfortable, but whatever) for DH, a chair, mini fridge, and private bathroom. Food was good.
I was not high risk. Also, I believe they only accept babies born 32 weeks and later, otherwise you are transferred to Southfield.
Most of all, I love the practice that delivers out of there, Metro Partners in Womens Health. Specifically, I see Dr. Lacoste, but I like them all.
